STOOP Premium Meat and STOOP Catering Events are growing rapidly. TThe two companies operate under a shared parent structure, based in Eemnes. STOOP Premium Meat supplies premium meat products to the hospitality industry and wholesalers, designed for quick and easy preparation in a professional kitchen. STOOP Catering Events delivers full-service catering for events ranging from 50 to 5,000 guests, from OFYR barbecues and walking dinners to cocktail bars, including styling, technical support, and staff. No fuss, just good food.

Behind these two brands is a single organization: a core production team on the floor, supported by flexible catering crews. An organization that has grown considerably in a short space of time.

That growth places different demands on HR than it did a few years ago. Dino Amelsbeek, COO of STOOP, explains why STOOP Premium Meat and STOOP Catering Events outsourced their HR to So Toff, and what that means for an organization that never stands still.

Friendly Fire is an international esports franchise that brings gaming and community together. The first Dutch location opened in Rotterdam and marks the starting point of Friendly Fire’s further expansion in the Netherlands. With ambitious growth plans, Friendly Fire aims to open multiple locations across the country in the coming years, giving gamers throughout the Netherlands a place to game together and connect with one another.

The company is led by a team of expat directors who had only recently relocated to the Netherlands when they founded the company. An exciting step, but one that came with a complication: hiring staff in a country whose labor laws were unfamiliar to them.

"The biggest challenge was Dutch labor law," says Artem Zhuravlev, director at Friendly Fire. "As expat directors who had just arrived, it was difficult to fully understand all the local rules and obligations."

The Mercer Brand is an Amsterdam-based sneaker and apparel label founded by Pim Dresen. The name is inspired by Mercer Street in New York, where Pim bought his first pair of sneakers at the age of ten. Today, the brand is known for its luxury, handmade shoes and sustainable collections for men and women, developed entirely in-house—from the sole to the laces. It’s no surprise that The Mercer Brand has collaborated with names like NASA, UCLA, Loro Piana, and The Beverly Hills Hotel. "We want to prove that sustainability and contemporary design aren’t mutually exclusive."

But as the brand grew, Pim realized that more was needed than just good shoes. The Mercer Brand is a fast-growing organization where, in parallel with the brand’s growth, HR challenges have also become increasingly important. As the team expanded, these HR challenges grew in complexity.

Vondels is known as the brand that turns Christmas into art. What began with sparkling ornaments grew into a collection of luxury gifts and atmospheric homeware that brings magic into the home all year round. Founder Yan Xu runs the creative company with her associate Loesje Donner-Raedts and team. "We used to do HR a bit 'on the side'. Until we noticed that we couldn't do that anymore."

Anyone who knows Vondels thinks of Christmas: glittering ornaments, unique designs and a good dose of humor. But the brand has long ceased to be just seasonal. "We now also sell gift items and homeware," Yan explains. "We want people to think: I'm looking for a special gift, I'll look at Vondels. Not a standard gift, but something with a story."
